The Savvy Shopper

In the reality of today’s world and with the Stock Market as it is. Not necessarily knowing from one day to the next as to when the economy is going to have a full rebound. I being a consumer and self employed fashion consultant. Like to think of myself as also a budget conscience, savvy shopper. That being one who can create a stylish ensemble, that will have multiple functionality, and still not break the bank.

In comes one of my personal favorite fashion secrets, the consignment stores! Beyond the sample sales of major headline stores and the discounts of the designer outlets. These great little forgotten secrets that fashion consultants and lovers alike shop regularly. In these stores I have found some of my favorite vintage finds. Along with the most current and latest trend pieces. When I am off working in a far away city, I make it a point to seek them out. Fabulous finds can be found at these stores for a minute fraction of the original cost!

Not only do these stores hold great vintage and designer pieces. They hold what I like to call “foundation” pieces that are essential to building and maintaining a functional wardrobe. Pieces such as a crisp white shirt or a classic little black dress. Things that will never go out of style and will always be the essentials of fashion. So remember, whether you are shopping for yourself or an entire family. It pays to be savvy. As I always say friends, loved ones, and people first, then fashion. Thanks for reading.

Flags through Fashion!

Hello Fashion followers, I hope everyone had a fabulous and fashionable weekend. Here in the united states of course we celebrated our independence day holiday. On that note I wanted to take a moment and touch on a fashion faux paux. That I noticed and believe is common. That being donning ones self with a country’s flag. This past fourth of July weekend I observed numerous citizens with the American Flag plastered on everything from T-shirts to full jackets. It is my thought that showing your patriotism to any country can be done in a more fashionable and tasteful manor.

For instance I myself chose to portray my patriotism for my country. By pulling the United States flag’s colors of red, white, and blue and using them in my outfit. My base consisted of a white sequined tank top purchased from a whole sale department store. Along with white capri’s (a staple to any summer wardrobe) that I have had for numerous years. I then used a royal blue silk wind breaker from a high end boutique and a clear vinyl belt with red trim and buckle that I found at a friend’s consignment store to complete my ensemble. I hope in that I might inspire a few people to show there patriotism for there country through fashion! Thanks for reading and remember friends, loved ones and people first, then fashion.
